London, July 7 (ANI): Popular micro blogging platform Twitter has planned a major update to its search and discovery feature later today, according to a report.
Pankaj Gupta, an engineering manager who heads up the recommendation and personalisation systems at Twitter, announced the site is set to undergo a major revamp.
"Search and discovery in @twitter set to change forever after tmrw [tomorrow]. Team - congratulations and enjoy the enormity of your impact few understand today!" he tweeted.
Twitter introduced a 'discover' section at the end of last year during an overhaul of the site in a bid to try and serve people relevant content from the network based on a user's interests.
According to The Telegraph, it is still quite US-centric and at an early stage in its development.
Technology pundits have predicted the site could make its content discovery system look a lot more like Flipboard, the popular social magazine app.
According to the report, the website currently has over 140 million active users who post more than one billion tweets every three days. (ANI)
