Romney's wife says Obama campaign wants to 'destroy, kill' husband

Washington, July 6 (ANI): Ann Romney, the wife of U.S. Presidential candidate Mitt Romeny, has claimed that President Barack Obama's campaign wants to "destroy" her husband.

Ann, during an interview with CBS News, blasted the "kill Romney" strategy that she believes the Democrats are using to hold onto the White House in November.

"Well, I feel like all [Obama is] doing is saying, 'Let's kill this guy,'" Politico quoted Ann, as saying.

"Not when I'm next to him you better not," she quipped as her husband sat beside her for the joint interview.

The "kill Romney" references date back to an August 2011 Politico story in which a prominent Democratic strategist aligned with the White House said, "Unless things change and Obama can run on accomplishments, he will have to kill Romney."

According to the report, Ann also said she would "love" to have her husband pick a female running mate.

"We've been looking at that. And I'd love that option as well," Ann responded when asked if Romney should nominate a woman. (ANI)
