Mumbai, July 1 (ANI): Family and friends of Bollywood actress Esha Deol attended her wedding reception here on Saturday evening.
Esha Deol tied the nuptial knot with businessman Bharat Takhtani in a traditional south Indian style on Friday.
At the reception, Esha was clad in a pink and silver lehenga, while Bharat Takhtani was dressed in a black and white three-piece suit.
Esha's father and yesteryears Bollywood actor, Dharmendra, expressed his happiness saying he was blessed with a nice son-in-law and a handsome groom for his daughter.
"Well, I am very happy, I have got very nice person and nice boy and a very handsome boy for my daughter and we all pray for their very happy married life," said Dharmendra.
Simultaneously, Esha's mother and veteran Bollywood actress Hema Malini thanked people across the country for sending their best wishes to the couple.
"A mother always gives her good wishes and then I am very happy, Esha got married yesterday and today is the reception and I am seeing that people from across India are sending their wishes and I would like to thank everybody who have sent their wishes for us," said Hema Malini.
Hema Malini had organised the event along with her younger daughter Ahana.
Talking about her married life, Esha said she expected to have an amazing life ahead.
"I am sure it's going to be amazing because I have an amazing partner who extremely understands," said Esha.
Bharatiya Janata Party leader Sushma Swaraj, who was present at the reception, said that she was glad to attend the function and wished the couple a happy married life.
"I would wish that Esha and her husband have a peaceful married life and both live happily," said Swaraj.
The guests showered their blessings on the couple, who were elated by their affection.
Among the guests, Bollywood diva Sushmita Sen congratulated the newly wed couple and wished them good luck and divine married life.
"My congratulations to Esha and Bharat, they are extra ordinary people and they are people that have, well Esha specially has been a support for everything I have ever done and very special child and she is a lovely child. I wish her and Bharat a world of happiness, I wish I had attended every single event that took place prior to this but I was travelling but I know they will have a divine married life ahead," said Sen.
Celebrities from the tinsel town who graced the occasion were legendary Dilip Kumar with wife Saira Banu, Jeetendra with his son Tusshar Kapoor, Rekha, actor Anupam Kher with wife Kiron Kher, Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, Zeenat Aman, Madhuri Dixit, Salman Khan, Fardeen Khan, Zayed Khan, Madhoo, Vidya Balan and Tabu among others.
The political leaders seen at the occasion were Uddhav Thackeray, Amar Singh, Raj Thackeray, Sushil Kumar Shinde, La Krishna Advani, Ravi Shankar Prasad and Narayan Rane. (ANI)
