Krishna promises follow up action after Delhi Police investigation of Abu Hamza
New Delhi, June 25 (ANI): External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna on Monday lauded the Delhi Police for arresting key Mumbai terror attack suspect and Indian Mujahideen terrorist Abu Hamza, and said New Delhi will take an appropriate follow up action on this matter only after receiving the investigation report.
"Delhi Police has been doing magnificent job and I think I am sure that the investigation should take place. We will just await the investigation," Krishna told the media here.
"Let the Delhi Police go through the investigation first and then they will send a report to the government. And then we will see what appropriate follow up action can be taken," he added, when asked whether he would be talking to his Pakistani counterpart following Hamza's arrest, whose name also features in a dossier.
Delhi Police arrested Hamza alias Sayeed Zabi ud Deen alias Zabi Ansari alias Riyasat Ali from the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport here.
He is believed to be one of the plotters of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack and was allegedly giving instructions to the terrorists. He was reportedly in Pakistan when the attack took place.ccording to the police, Hamza is also wanted in connection with many other cases in India, including the Chinnaswamy Stadium attack in Bangalore in 2010.
Hamza has been remanded to police custody for 15 days. (ANI)
