Deadmau5 still upset with Madonna over 'Molly' remark during MDNA gig

New York, June 21 (ANI): Deadmau5 is still peeved at Madonna for an apparent pro-drug reference the Material Girl had made at him in March.

During a recent interview with Rolling Stone magazine, he slammed the 53-year-old along with super DJ's David Guetta or Skrillex.

Deadmau5 born Joel Zimmerman first lashed out at Madonna after she'd made what seemed like a thinly veiled drug reference at Ultra, the Miami dance music fest.

"How many people in this crowd have seen Molly?" the New York Post quoted the singer as saying at the event.

Molly is the slang term in dance music circles for MDMA, the active chemical in ecstasy.

The music producer, said the 'Papa Don't Preach' hitmaker's remarks to the crowd at Ultra Music Festival were akin to, "talking about slavery at a [bleeping] blues concert".

He even charged her of trying too hard to be a "funky grandma."

"Very classy there Madonna... such a great message for the young music lovers at ultra. Quite the [bleeping] philanthropist. but hey, at least yer hip and trendy! [Bleeping] cant smack my head hard enough right now . . . I can appriciate [sic] her meteoric career . . . but what the [bleep] was that?" he had written on his Facebook page at that time.

"You want to be 'hip' and 'cool' and 'funky grandma.' Fine. It's not my place to say you're irrelevant. [But] if you're gonna come into my world, at least do it with a little more dignity.

"I understand she has millions more fans, and is way more successful than I'll ever be. But it's like talking about slavery at a [bleeping] blues concert. It's inappropriate," he said.

Deadmau5, who's also had a Twitter war with Paul "DJ Pauly D" DelVecchio, also slams DJs David Guetta and Skrillex for their lack of technical proficiency at their hugely popular live shows.

"David Guetta has two iPods and a mixer and he just plays tracks," Deadmau5 sniffs. "Like, 'Here's one with Akon, check it out!" he said.

He then took aim at Skrillex, who is reportedly a friend of his.

"Even Skrillex isn't doing anything too technical. He has a laptop and a MIDI recorder, and he's just playing his [bleep]," Deadmau5 said.

"There's... button-pushers getting paid half a million [per show].

"And not to say I'm not a button-pusher. I'm just pushing a lot more buttons," he added. (ANI)
