India, Botswana to collaborate in field of human settlements
New Delhi, June 18 (ANI): India and Botswana on Monday decided to actively collaborate and share experiences in the field of human settlements.
An eight-member delegation led by Botswana Minister of Presidential Affairs and Public Administration Mokgwetsi Masisi called on Minister of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Culture Kumari Selja here today during which the two sides discussed the common areas of interest such as slum upgrading, affordable housing, skill development and monitoring of training programmes for the beneficiaries through biometrics tracking system, community involvement in government programmes etc.
During the half-an-hour meeting, it was agreed that the two countries will actively collaborate and share their experiences in the field of human settlements.
The visiting delegation earlier interacted with officials of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation. During the meeting, the Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation, A.K. Mishra and other senior officials apprised the visiting delegation of various programmes/schemes of the Ministry.
The Botswana delegation is currently in India on a weeklong visit till June 23 to benchmark on India's best practices on poverty eradication.
The delegation is also scheduled to visit Hyderabad and Mumbai. (ANI)
