London, June 17 (ANI): England captain Steven Gerrard believes the Three Lions team is 'unbreakable', and emphasized on the burgeoning spirit within the team's Euro 2012 camp.
'"At times it feels like we're unbreakable," the Daily Mail quoted Gerrard as saying.
For the team, the contrast between this tournament and the World Cup two years ago could not be more marked, as England seemed to have broken free of the shackles that tormented their disastrous World Cup campaign in South Africa.
Gerrard believes Friday's battling 3-2 success over Sweden in Kiev, following their gritty 1-1 draw against France in the opening game on Monday, demonstrated the camaraderie, togetherness and total commitment not only of the 23-man squad, but also their back-up team of coaches, medical personnel, kit men and those responsible for their security.
"Credit needs to be given to the whole team," said Gerrard.
"The work-rate has been tremendous and at times it feels like we're unbreakable. This has been a great platform for us but we can't get carried away. We needed to make good the points lost against France by beating Sweden," he added. (ANI)
