Karachi to set up museum, music library as tribute to ghazal maestro Mehdi Hassan

Karachi, June 16 (ANI): The administrator of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Muhammad Hussain Syed has announced the establishment of a museum and music library in memory of legendary singer Mehdi Hassan.
The museum will display his personal belongings along with a collection of memorable songs and ghazals sung by the maestro.
Syed also announced a contest for architects for construction of Hassan's mausoleum and to give final shape to the design of mausoleum in coordination with the family members of the late singer.
According to the Daily Times, he expressed his views while talking to media representatives after laying a floral wreath on the grave of Hassan on behalf of the citizens of Karachi on Friday. The administrator said that the services of Hassan in the field of music would be remembered forever.
Expressing his condolence to Hassan's sons, he assured them of all possible help in the future. (ANI)
