Azerbaijan willing to help Pak overcome power crisis, boost bilateral ties

Peshawar, June 15 (ANI): Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Pakistan, Dashgin Shikarov, has said that a comprehensive and concrete plan was being followed to boost bilateral trade opportunities between Islamabad and Baku.
"Pakistan and Azerbaijan must enhance bilateral trade. It is the demand of the day," The Nation quoted Shikarov, as saying.
"Azerbaijan is ready to help Pakistan overcome this growing problem of power shortage. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has a great potential of power generation. And, we are ready to assist," Shikarov said.
Azerbaijan is also willing to assist Pakistan in other sectors including oil and gas, Shikarov added. He said his country is also thinking of setting up hospitals and educational institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
"Our government will soon offer scholarships to students of this province in health, engineering and others disciplines," he added.
Over 100 Pakistani entrepreneurs are expected to a accompany President Asif Ali Zardari in his visit to Baku in October to discuss with Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev ways and means to boost trading links.
Shikarov also expressed his country's desire of strengthening air links with Pakistan. (ANI)
