Jaipur, June 14 (IANS) Family members of a migrant woman from Pakistan created ruckus at a private hospital here when she died while undergoing treatment Thursday, police said.

A first information report (FIR) has been registered against some doctors of the hospital, they added.

According to the police, Basanti Devi, 37, who had been living in the city's Shiprapath area for the past 10 years, had been admitted to Saket Hospital for a gall bladder stone surgery May 29.

"The doctor say that she was operated upon and her stones were removed. However, she developed some infection following which she died Thursday," Assistant Commissioner of Police Sukhdev Singh Jangir told IANS.

He added that she was staying here with some relatives. "They alleged negligence on part of the hospital and staged a demonstration. They shouted slogans and refused to take the body. We have registered a case against the doctors who conducted the surgery," said the official.

Jangir said that Basanti Devi had been living here since 2002 after migrating from Pakistan.

"Her visa was being extended by the government, however, she was yet to get a permanent citizenship," he said.
