London, June 13 (ANI): Steven Gerrard's wife Alex has expressed grief and her "heartbreak" over the sudden death of her close friends' 15-year-old daughter in a suspected party drugs overdose.

Teenager Rose Farley, who was described as "gorgeous and bubbly", collapsed at a party in Liverpool, with friends later claiming that her drink was spiked with ecstasy.

She was rushed to Alder Hey Children's Hospital but died just hours later on June 2.

"It's been an incredibly sad week. Two very close friends of Steven and I tragically lost their 15-year-old daughter Rose Farley," the Daily Mail quoted her as writing in her OK! Magazine column.

"She was such a beautiful girl. Whenever I saw her, Rose was so happy, bubbly and was always surrounded by lots of friends," she wrote.

The couple know Rose's dad Chris, a former nightclub owner, from when he worked as a bodyguard to Steven, 32.

Farley's second wife, Kelly, is also best friends with the footballer's wife, and the two couples socialise regularly.

In a touching tribute Alex added: "She was so young and had whole life ahead of her.

"I'm still in shock over it all. Right now, Steven and I, and all of our close friends, are just trying to be there for them as much as we can.

"But I can't put into words just how horrible and heartbreaking this has been," she wrote.

Several messages were posted on social-networking sites with one user writing that he hoped the people responsible "get caught."

Two teenage boys were arrested and bailed in connection with Rose's death.

A 16-year-old boy from Kirkdale, Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs and a 17-year-old from Everton was later arrested on suspicion of manslaughter and supplying controlled drugs.

Friends of Rose later hit out at the "twisted minds" of the people or person who they claimed had secretly put the deadly drug into her drink. (ANI)
