Islamabad, June 13 (ANI): Pakistani real estate tycoon Malik Riaz, implicated in the Arsalan case, has said the Chief Justice's son Arsalan Iftikhar is a 'don' and he is the one running the country's judiciary.
Riaz also alleged that he was blackmailed by Arsalan, and denied having paid any bribe to him, reports The News.
"I have been victimised and blackmailed, and like me many other businessmen were blackmailed too," he said.
Riaz, however, clarified that he had not accused Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry of anything and that he respected him.But, Arsalan Iftikhar is a don," he added.
A statement submitted in the Supreme Court by Riaz states that Rs 342,501,254 was spent on Arsalan's three foreign tours.
The documents presented in the court showed that Arsalan's first visit in 2010 cost a total of Rs 8, 860,579, which included ticket fares, a tour to Monte Carlo, car and flat rental fees and shopping. The second tour that took place in 2011 cost Rs 692,949, and one in 2010 cost Rs 5,947,726. All the visits were made to London.
According to the paper, Arsalan had reportedly assured Riaz that he would settle the cases fought in his father's court in favour of Bahria Town, in return for the trips, which however, did not happen. (ANI)
