London, June 10 (ANI): Mario Balotelli said that he was moved by a trip to the Nazi concentration camp in Auschwitz, as three members of his family died there.

The gas chamber victims were two great-grandparents on the side of Italian foster mum Silvia, and a sister of his grandparents.

The 21-year-old Ghanaian-born striker fought tears on a visit with his Italy team-mates to the camp 50 miles from Krakow.

"When I was 18 I searched in a chest and found letters and documents telling me about this tragic past," the Sun quoted him as saying.

"I am proud to have come here to pay respects to them and all the dead," he said. (ANI)
