Paris, June 7(ANI): World number four tennis player Andy Murray has congratulated Spaniard David Ferrer for winning their French Open quarterfinal match, and added that he was satisfied with his performance at Roland Garros.
Murray lost 6-4 6-7 6-3 6-2 in four sets to world number six Ferrer, making it four out of four wins on clay surface for the Spaniard over him.
The Scot, who has suffered back problems since the opening round, held up his hands and admitted that Ferrer outplayed him.
"He had his chances and converted them. He's solid and consistent and if you don't convert opportunities against him, the games become longer and the pressure builds on you," The Daily Mirror quoted Murray, as saying.
"But it was a good tournament for me. I felt better coming in this year than I did last year. I lost to a better clay court player," he added.
"There are things to work on but I knew it would be a tough match," he said.n attention-grabbing statistic reflected that Murray did not cement any of his five breaks by holding his own serve, a weakness, which he has shown in a number of matches.
Murray said: "It wasn't something I thought about during the match. It's something I need to look at and see if it was something that I did wrong or something he did well." (ANI)
