Pietersen must prove commitment to Test cricket following shorter form exit: Vaughan

London, Jun 1(ANI): Former England captain Michael Vaughan believes Kevin Pietersen must prove his commitment for Test cricket to Andrew Strauss and coach Andy Flower.
Vaughan said if he was the captain of England team, he would have taken this commitment in writing from Pietersen to play in the next two Ashes series.
"I would want to know that he is not going to suddenly have another great Indian Premier League, make a load more money and then pull the plug on his Test career in the lead up to next summer's Ashes," Vaughan wrote in his column for The Telegraph.
"If he has got any thoughts of quitting Tests in the next twelve months he has to be honest and tell Andrew Strauss and Andy Flower now so they have time to bed in someone else," he added.
Vaughan said he personally thinks Pietersen is completely committed to England Test tea, and focused to win the Ashes series, but captain Strauss would certainly look for some kind of proof.
"Personally, I think he is committed to Tests and the Ashes. He loves Test cricket. It gives him a buzz," Vaughan said.
"But Strauss will want evidence of that commitment and we will know if he has had it or not when Test team is announced on Sunday. I would pick him - he is not the only player to have chosen one form of the game," he added. (ANI)
