China's tallest building to reach 2,073 feet

Beijing, May 29 (IANS) The 121-storey Shanghai Tower being built in Shanghai city will be China's tallest building upon completion, the construction company said Tuesday.

On Tuesday, it reached a height of 303 metres after workers poured concrete on the 65th floor of the building, which upon completion will reach 632 metres (2,073 feet), Xinhua reported.

The construction, which began in 2008, will complete in 2015. It will be the world's second-tallest building after Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

A spokesman for the builder Shanghai Construction Group said the company plans to complete construction up to the 86th floor by the end of this year.
