New Delhi, May 27 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Sunday left for Myanmar on a three-day visit that will see him unveil new initiatives in expanding trade and energy cooperation with India's eastern neighbour that was for decades diplomatically isolated from the rest of the world.

He meets Myanmar President Thein Sein Monday in capital Nay Pyi Taw. On Tuesday, he will hold talks with pro-democracy leader Aung San Suu Kyi in Yangon.

Ahead of the visit, the cabinet had Thursday cleared a proposal for a bus service linking Imphal in Manipur to Mandalay in Myanmar.
