Shimla, May 25 (ANI): A special meditation session organized by Tibetan leader Taklung Tsetul Rinpoche drew hundreds of monks here on Friday.

Rinpoche, the 6th head of the Nyingma School, presided over the special session of the teachings of the 'Jangter' at Dorjee Dak Monastery.

Dorjee Jama, a Buddhist monk, said that the session was of great importance as it taught the monks the art of meditation.

"This is an old tradition of relation between a teacher and a student. These teachings are very necessary for meditation," he said.

Jama added that it was for the first time that they were attending a session on such a scale.

"We have never attended teachings at such big level. This is the first time session on such a big scale is organised over here and such sessions have taken place in Bhutan, Sikkim, and Assam. Monks and foreign tourists have also come from abroad," he said. (ANI)
