London, May 23 (ANI): Military trumpeters from seven different units lined up at Wellington Barracks near Buckingham Palace to play the wedding Fanfare and enter the Guinness World Records.
The impressive display of 91 musicians in ceremonial uniform marked the run-up to the Queen's Jubilee, which is less than two weeks away, at the famous Changing the Guard site.
The event was organised as part of World Record London, a series of events in the city aimed at breaking more than 20 records.
The event staged by the Victoria Business Improvement District (BID), which promotes businesses in the area, was attended by various political figures.
"This was a wonderful event, showcasing the wealth of cultural activity Victoria has to offer as well as celebrating our close links with the Royal family," the Telegraph quoted Ruth Duston, chief executive of Victoria BID, as saying.
"The glorious Wellington Barracks setting is just one of many iconic tourist hot spots in the SW1 area."
Westminster City Council's deputy cabinet member for business Councillor Cameron Thompson, who attended the event, added: "In a year of unique events to mark the Diamond Jubilee, this world record bid promises to be of lasting significance. It's a fantastic and highly original way for this part of central London, with its very close Royal connections, to celebrate Her Majesty's six decades on the throne," he added. (ANI)
