PCB considering South Africa as possible neutral venue for Oz series

Johannesburg, May 22(ANI): The Pakistan Cricket Board is considering South Africa as a possible venue for holding its 'home' series against Australia in August along with Zimbabwe and Malaysia.

According to Sports24, the PCB is exploring opportunities to conduct five one-day internationals and three Twenty20 matches against Australia in South Africa.

Pakistan has staged any series at home since 2009 because of security concerns, and has normally used the United Arab Emirates subsequently as an alternative, but temperatures in August get unbearably hot in the Middle Eastern country, ruling out cricket as a feasible option.

South Africa would have weather issues of its own during August, with the Western Cape still in its wet winter season, Highveld pitches only decently prepared if spring has taken root early there. Only KwaZulu-Natal would be the only realistic option. (ANI)
