'Rehman Malik is alien to Pakistan'

Lahore, Fri, 18 May 2012 ANI

Lahore, May 18: The media coordinator of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), has demanded the removal of Interior Minister Rehman Malik from the cabinet, dubbing him an 'alien' because of his controversial citizenship.

Muhammad Mehdi said the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) government must show Malik the door, saying that the posting of an 'alien' to a sensitive portfolio is extremely dangerous for the country, reports The Dawn.

Mehdi also advised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to improve its image and look like a political party and not an NGO.

He went on to criticise Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani's remarks that those who wanted to leave the country had better leave it.

He added that Gilani could challenge his conviction but democratic and moral norms demanded that he first resign.

He also denied the impression being given by the PPP government that failing to reopen the NATO supply routes, would leave the country facing isolation in the comity of nations. (ANI)
