New Delhi, May 17(ANI): Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Prakash Javadekar on Thursday said people expect "good governance" from West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, and added that the latter should work hard to meet her pre-poll promises.
"We already wished her best. After all everybody who gets elected must perform as per the expectations of the people and take the state forward. Now people want good governance," Javadekar said.
According to her critics, for the past year since she assumed office, Bannerjee's erratic relationship with Centre has been a major impediment in way of economic reforms.
Critics have often accused her of being autocratic and unable to tolerate dissent.
In a sign of her clout, she forced the ouster of railway minister, one of her senior party members, after he raised fares against her will in what he thought was a well-received budget speech in March.
Banerjee has maintained the campaign against her was orchestrated by the communists who she had ousted. (ANI)
