Rs.12 lakh jewellery stolen from Lucknow shop

Lucknow, May 17 (IANS) Two men on a motorcycle fled with jewellery worth Rs.12 lakh from a shop in the Aashiana area here Thursday, police said.

 

The men told the shop owner that they wanted to buy gold ornaments for their sister. After they were shown the jewellery, they picked up a few pieces, saying they wanted to show them to their sister waiting outside.

 

Once they came out, they got on the bike and decamped with the jewellery, police said.

 

Police are searching for the accused and are also scanning the shop's CCTV camera footage to identify them.
