Nine wounded in Iraq bomb attacks

Baghdad, May 16 (IANS) As many as nine people, including security personnel, were injured Wednesday in separate bomb attacks in eastern and central Iraq, said police.

 

In Iraq's Diyala province, a roadside bomb went off near a police patrol in the city of Jalawla, some 150 km northeast of Baghdad, injuring four policemen, Xinhua reported citing a police source.

 

An explosive expert of the police was injured while defusing a roadside bomb at the blast site.

 

In another incident, a boy was injured when a home-made bomb hidden in a garbage container detonated near his house.

 

In central Iraq, gunmen blew up a bomb planted at an under- construction medical centre in Baghdad's Doura district, wounding three construction workers, said an interior ministry source.
