Washington, May 16 (ANI): Boxing champion Manny Pacquiao has ripped President Barack Obama's view on same-sex marriage, calling it offensive to his religion.
The WBO welterweight champion invoked the Bible as he criticized the president's stance.
"God's words first ... obey God's law first before considering the laws of man," CBS news quoted Pacquiao.
"God only expects man and woman to be together and to be legally married, only if they so are in love with each other. It should not be of the same sex so as to adulterate the altar of matrimony, like in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah of Old," he said.
However the 33-year-old boxer's thought seems to be is in line with his conservative views in the Filipino legislature.
Even last year, he vehemently opposed a proposed law that would make contraceptives accessible to most Filipinos and sex education mandatory. (ANI)
