Hot Wednesday in Delhi, rains likely Thursday

New Delhi, May 16 (IANS) It was yet another hot day in Delhi Wednesday with the maximum temperature settling three notches above average at 42 degrees Celsius.

 

The day's minimum temperature was 25.6 degrees Celsius, average for this time of the season, while the humidity levels wavered between a high of 41 and a low of 27 percent.

 

The city has witnessed a gradual increase in the mercury over the last few days and Wednesday was no different as, apart from the harsh sun, Delhiites also had to brave hot winds during the day.

 

The India Meteorological Department (IMD), however, has forecast rain in some parts of the city accompanied by thunderstorms Thursday.

 

The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 41 and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.

 

Tuesday's maximum and minimum temperatures were both a notch above average at 39.8 and 26.4 degrees Celsius, respectively.
