Indian expat in UAE dies in road accident day before he was to fly home

Abu Dhabi, May 15 (ANI): An Indian expatriate in the United Arab Emirates has reportedly died in a road accident just a day before he was returning to home country.

Mandayi Moideen, 65, who was living in Abu Dhabi for almost four decades, met his long-term colleagues and friends in Abu Dhabi on Thursday to say goodbye as he was to fly to India on Saturday.

One of his collogues told The Gulf News that Moideen went to purchase something from the market on Thursday evening, but did not come back.

Moideen's friends and relatives later learned on Saturday that he had died while crossing a road in Shahama, the report said.

Moideen, from Kerala, worked as a cook with a prominent Emirati family in Shahama for 20 years.

He is survived by his wife and three sons and three daughters back home.

According to the report, his body was flown home on Sunday night. (ANI)
