Pink Floyd classic Cameron's favourite too

London, May 15 (ANI): British PM David Cameron admitted to being a fan of 'The Dark Side of the Moon' by Pink Floyd.

Cameron, 45, revealed his surprise choice to his 166,000 Facebook followers on May 14 as part of a celebration of Great British Music.

As the Prime Minister battles the accusations of being 'out of touch' during the economic crisis, critics have sarcastically pointed out that the album appears to be a fitting choice, featuring tracks including Us and Them, and Money, reported the Daily Mail.

The composition is the latest in a long list of musical favourites cited by Cameron.

Earlier, ahead of the 2010 General Election, the Conservative leader insisted that his favourite album was 'The Queen Is Dead' by 'The Smiths'.

The PM also revealed a liking for indie bands including 'The Killers', 'Radiohead', 'Pulp and Blur'.

Cameron is also said to have a soft spot for Lily Allen's music as well. He reportedly gifted Barack Obama a collection of CDs as a gift, which included the London singer's album.

The Prime Minister, who has admitted having an inclination towards 'quite gloomy music', has also named groups such as the 'Arctic Monkeys' and 'The xx' as well as 'Florence' and 'The Machine'.

His eclectic tastes also include a less mainstream acts including US group 'Band of Horses' and up-and-coming singer Lana Del Rey.

But out of all Cameron has voted for the album 'Dark Side of the Moon' as his favourite.

However PM's choice of Pink Floyd, who have sold more than 200million albums worldwide, prompted a furious debate on his official Facebook page with critics accusing him of trying too hard to be 'cool'.

'Oh, come on. Just get on with the business of government, would you?' said a critic.Pity he doesn't concentrate on sorting out the economy rather than trying to behave like the son of Blair.' Added another critic.

However, supporters defended his 'great taste'.

'Dark Side of the Moon is simply outstanding,' posted a supporter. (ANI)
