London, May 14 (ANI): Sir Alex Ferguson has said that it would take Manchester City a century to create history like his club.
Manchester City recovered from being 2-1 to register a dramatic 3-2 victory against Queens Park Rangers that made them the Premier League champions, turning the title hopes of Alex Ferguson's squad to dust.
"It's a cruel way to lose out but I have experienced many ups and downs in 26 years. I think we have a rich history, better than anyone and it will take them [City] a century to get to our level of history. For us it's still a challenge; we're good at challenges and we'll kick on from here," The Guardian quoted Ferguson, as saying.
Ferguson's players did their level best to conjure a miracle to continue their English champion streak and claim the Premier League trophy as their own, but Manchester City did manage to create their own landmark by winning the first league in their club's history of 44 years.
"Everybody expected City to win, but they did it against 10 men for half an hour and with five extra minutes to help them. But I congratulate City on winning the league. Anybody who wins it deserves it," Ferguson added. (ANI)
