Barcelona, May 12 (ANI): Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton is trying to remain cheerful and upbeat, despite facing problems with his car set-up during the practice session for the Spanish Grand Prix at Barcelona.
"I am going to smile but it's not been a great day. I had an inconsistent set-up which makes it difficult to pin-point what I need to do to make it better," the Daily Mirror quoted Hamilton, as saying.
However, Hamilton, who finished fourth in the second practice at the Catalunya Circuit, claimed that McLaren's modest haul of new parts, has improved the performance of his car overall.
"The upgrades worked well, and I had good pace particularly on longer runs so we are in the fight. The car already feels better than it did in the last race," he noted.
He said there were some positives with the "spectacular" long runs as the Pirelli tyres lasted far longer than he expected.
Hamilton is yet to win a formula race this year while rivals Alonso, Button, Rosberg and Vettel already have claimed victory, but he is in second place in the overall Formula One standings as of now, just four points behind German's Vettel, after four of the 20 rounds. (ANI)
