Washington, May 12 (ANI): Almost 52 percent Americans disapprove of President Barack Obama's way of handling the economy, with 46 percent approving, according to a poll.

According to an Associated Press-GfK poll, only 22 percent Americans believed that the economy has improved in the past month, down from 28 percent who believed so in February.

Most Americans also believe that the unemployment rate in the US will deteriorate over the next year, Politico reports.

Less than one in three Americans believed that household's economic condition will improve in the next year, while 18 percent believed their finances will worsen.

However, 35 percent believed that the unemployment rate would start growing, up from 30 percent who believed that in February.

However, only 20 percent of Americans believe that the economy is in 'good' condition.

In April, the unemployment rate stood at 8.1 percent, and approximately 12.5 million Americans were unemployed. (ANI)
