Order on framing charges against Essar, Loop promoters May 25

New Delhi, May 11 (IANS) A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court Friday fixed May 25 for its order on framing charges against the promoters of the Essar Group and Loop Telecom in the 2G spectrum allocation case.
Special CBI Judge O. P. Saini reserved his order on framing charges against five corporate honchos of Loop Telecom and Essar Group, as also three other telecom firms.
The was after the CBI and defence counsel of Essar and Loop promoters concluded their arguments.
The Essar Group and Loop Telecom have strongly opposed all charges against them.
The CBI has alleged that the promoters of Essar Group were the real investors and beneficiaries of the spectrum and licences issued to Loop Telecom, which was used as a front company by the Essar Group to acquire the 2G licences and spectrum in 2008.
This has been vehemently denied by the Essar Group.
