New Delhi, May 11(ANI): Pilots of the loss-making carrier Kingfisher Airlines have called off their one-day old strike after being assured that their pending salaries for January shall be paid by May 15.

Vijay Mallya, Chairman and promotor of the airlines, had on Thursday written to the employees, threatening action against those on strike.

In the letter, Mallya said he will "act firmly and decisively" and that he will not allow a "small group of misguided employees to derail and jeopardise operations" and urged employees to ensure that the revised schedule is maintained.

The pilots are expected to return to work from Saturday evening.

Reportedly, 12 Kingfisher flights were cancelled on Friday after the pilots reported sick in protest against non-payment of due salaries, while17 flights were cancelled yesterday due to the stir. (ANI)
