Eva Mendes prefers 'flawed' roles

Washington, May 10 (ANI): Eva Mendes has revealed that she prefers to play flawed and complicated rather than sexy characters.

The Hollywood beauty is playing a single mom who is too busy juggling work, bills and her married boyfriend to pay attention to her teenage daughter Ansiedad (Cierra Ramirez) in new movie 'Girl In Progress'.

The actress admits that she loved having the chance to play a character that isn't perfect.

Eva, who is renowned for playing sultry characters and love interests in movies such as in '2 Fast 2 Furious' and 'Hitch,' says that "sexy is just one component" of what she can do.

"Sexy is just one component. It's not a thing I am. It's a thing I can be. It's a side of myself I can tap into," Contactmusic quoted her as telling Collider.com.

"The careers that I admire and actually try to emulate are those of Julianne Moore and Annette Bening. Those women, to me, make amazing choices. They're sexy, beautiful women, but that doesn't dictate their choices." The 'Hitch' star added. (ANI)
