UAE charity helps 1 mn people

Abu Dhabi, May 9 (IANS/WAM) The Giving Hands Initiative, a charity organisation in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), has achieved its target of providing services to over one million children and the elderly.

 

The organisation is led by Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, chairperson of the General Women's Union and of the Family Development Foundation and chairperson of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood.

 

It is part of the Zayed Giving Initiative. For meeting the target, the organisation worked in collaboration with the Emirates World Humanitarian Mobile Hospital (Elaaj), Emirates World Heart Group and the General Women's Union.

 

The Zayed Giving Initiative has been working at local and international levels since its inception in 2003. It has made contributions in various fields including health, education, environment and culture.
