London, May 7 (ANI): Chelsea skipper John Terry has insisted that the club should a strike new deal to retain Didier Drogba, who set a new FA Cup final scoring record.

"Didi loves Chelsea and I really hope he will be back next season. We've got a massive Champions League game in a couple of weeks, and after that, hopefully, something can be thrashed out and he stays," The Sun quoted Terry, as saying.

The Chelsea captain insisted that it 'will be a shame if Didier leaves because he has been incredible for this club'.

Drogba became the first man to score in four FA Cup finals to clinch a 2-1 victory over Liverpool and has now scored eight goals in eight Wembley starts.

On creating the score record, the Ivorian footballer said, "I didn't know I had made history on Saturday until a TV guy told me on the pitch afterwards. I would love to come back to Wembley and score again, but I'm already happy with what I did. I kissed the pitch at the end because it was nice to celebrate and remember it that way." (ANI)
