London, May 6(ANI): England wicket keeper Matt Prior has said winning the third Test match against Sri Lanka in Colombo to level the three-match series, which also safeguarded their number one Test ranking, was a massive high for the team.

Prior acknowledges how momentous the Colombo Test win, in an otherwise disappointing winter, could prove to be.

"We only really realized when we won the game, just how important it was to stay at number one," The Daily Express quoted Prior, as saying.

"Looking forward to this summer the timing was just right in Colombo It was a tough winter, we didn't play well - we know that - but then to get that win and level the series was massive," he added.

England is hosting West Indies for a home series, with the first Test match starting on May 17 at Lord's. (ANI)
