Windies' preparation in England hindered by absent trio

London, May 6(ANI): The West Indies' trio of Narsingh Deonarine, Assad Fudadin and Marlon Samuels haven't reached England yet to start their preparation for the first Test match at Lord's, starting on May 17.

Windies captain Darren Sammy however, remains positive despite visa, travel and injury issues, meaning his side only had 11 fit players at Hove on Saturday.

Guyanese pair Deonarine and Fudadin are still in Jamaica, in anticipation of their visa clearance to travel, while Marlon Samuels is thought to be in transit following his Indian Premier League spell with the Pune Warriors.

Fast bowler Fidel Edwards is also still under pressure with a back niggle, which ruled him out of last week's Test defeat against Australia in Dominica.

"We have 12 guys here right now, and I think the other three are coming in later this evening. It's a little bit to do with visas. They're going to be here, and they're not missing anything right now," Sky Sports quoted Sammy, as saying.

"We've not named our XI. They're batsmen, so they could come in and play straightaway," he added. (ANI)
