Jennifer Hudson says fiance saved her life

Washington, May 4 (ANI): Jennifer Hudson has revealed that had her fiance David Otunga not called her to visit him, she would have been murdered along with her mother and brother at her home three years back.

Wrestler Otunga may have inadvertently saved her life when he urged her to delay a trip home to Chicago, Illinois and visit him in Florida instead.

"I was literally picking up my bags to walk out the door to go to my mother's house and he called me, like, 'Can you come out here instead of going...?' And I was like, 'OK, sure'," Contactmusic quoted her as saying in a Globe article.

"That one decision, that one thing... I wouldn't be sitting here... I could have been home with my mom then... I flew out to see him (Otunga) - that's why I'm still here," she said.

Hudson was in Tampa with Otunga when she heard the news that her mother Darnell Donerson and brother Jason had been shot dead in the home they shared in October, 2008.

The body of the 'Dreamgirls' star's seven-year-old nephew, Julian King, was found days later in an abandoned Suv.

William Balfour, the ex-husband of the actress' sister Julia, is currently on trial for the murders. (ANI)
