Prince Harry backs cousin-in-law Mike Tindall's rugby charity

London, May 3 (ANI): Prince Harry has collaborated with cousin-in-law Mike Tindall in a mission to help military men and women through rugby.

The Apache-flying prince has thrown his weight behind Tindall's new charity Rugby For Heroes which raises funds and mentors servicemen and women making the sometimes difficult transition to civilian life.

Harry's support for Tindall is a huge endorsement for the rugby player, who is the newest member of the Royal Family after marrying the prince's cousin Zara Phillips last July.

He had a rocky start to royal life after being caught on CCTV in September kissing and hugging blonde friend and ex girlfriend Jessica Palmer in a New Zealand bar during last year's Rugby World Cup.

But Gloucester centre Tindall, who has always been extremely popular with Princes William, Harry and Zara's mum Princess Anne, has put the blunder behind him and is keen to use his profile to champion good causes.

Military charities have long been a favourite of the royals. Both princes are serving officers and Prince William, Kate and Harry announced in January their foundation would back military charity Forces In Mind.

"Harry and Mike have always got on really well, they enjoy a laugh and joke together and have a rough-and-tumble relationship a bit like a big and little brother," the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

"It's daunting entering the Royal Family, but the younger royals in particular have always put Mike at ease and he has a particularly relaxed relationship with Harry - there's lots of banter between them.

"He and Harry have had a few conversations about Mike's work on Rugby For Heroes and Harry told him he was keen to help," the source added.

First started by Tindall and rugby friends including Anthony Allen and Ryan Lamb, the charity fundraisers, sets up a "buddies" system for service people and rugby players and also provides rugby summer camps for military families. (ANI)
