Giggs says Man U players are ready to 'kill off City's title hopes' in Manchester Derby

London , Mon, 30 Apr 2012 ANI

London, Apr 30 (ANI): Manchester United veteran Ryan Giggs has said his team is ready to ruin Manchester City's title hopes at tonight's derby.

Giggs, who could be playing in his 36th derby, admitted being frustrated about playing City after losing to Wigan Athletic and drawing with Everton.

"It's a bit frustrating, but there's nothing we can do about it now. We know it's still in our hands and if we win, we'll be in a brilliant position," the Daily Mirror quoted Giggs, as saying.

Giggs, 38, who has been a part of many epic derbies till now, stressed that tonight would 'arguably be the biggest of them all, with so much at stake'.

"There's no mistaking that this is a massive game and the biggest in recent times. We've got that experience when it comes to winning titles, but City have got experienced players who've won titles with other clubs. We just need to make sure we use the experience we've got." he said.

Giggs admitted that City looked 'unstoppable' in the first-half of the season and United had to ensure their title rivals 'did not disappear out of sight'.

"They're a good side. They were on fire pre-Christmas and we were really just trying to hang on," he revealed.

However, the Welsman added 'although a draw would be good enough to preserve United's three point lead over City, United will be going all-out to triumph'.

"City will be looking at it and fancying themselves to win the game because they're a good team and at home. But we're Manchester United, we're champions. We'll try to go out there and put out a statement that we deserve to win this league," he declared. (ANI)
