Ferguson says winner of Manchester derby would go on to become English champions

London , Sun, 29 Apr 2012 ANI

London, Apr 29(ANI): Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said if title rivals Manchester City wins the derby on Monday night at the Etihad Stadium, they will win the Premier League title, and if his team won or drew the game, then they would be strong favourites to retain the title.

"If City win, I think they probably will win it from there, yes. Even though they still have to go to Newcastle. I think they'd have a great chance, but if we win on Monday, we'd be strong favourites," The Telegraph quoted Ferguson, as saying.

"A draw and we'd be favourites too, no doubt about that, with two games to go. We'd have to be happy with that, but we won't be talking about going there not to lose," he added. (ANI)
