Dubai, Apr 25 (ANI): Al Wasl coach Diego Maradona has said that he might soon leave the UAE Pro League club if an imminent board meeting to discuss extra transfer funds doesn't go his way.
"My work is not complete. I've only achieved 50 per cent of what I'm capable of because of certain requirements, promises and things asked for at the beginning of the season that didn't happen," the Gulf News quoted Maradona, as saying, who is on a two year contract with the club.
Although the coach admitted that he 'really likes it here' but he emphasized that he's 'always on the look out for a new challenge'.
"I will meet with the chairman [Marwan Bin Bayat] in the coming days to decide if we can continue to work together, to see if they can fulfill my requirements," he added.
He revealed that "if we are unable to meet as far as our thoughts and decisions" then he "might have to leave the city on a mutual agreement for both parties".
"I will definitely come back to the UAE but it might only be as a tourist," the 1986 World Cup winner outlined.
This is the second time Maradona has mentioned a possible departure at the end of this season, after making the same ultimatum for extra transfer funds back in February.
"If I can't compete there's no reason to continue and if they are not able to buy players for lack of budget maybe it's easier that I just leave and they can keep the funds to use it on something that they require," he added. (ANI)
