Pakistan successfully test fires 'nuclear enabled' Hatf IV ballistic missile

Rawalpindi, Apr 25 (ANI): Pakistan successfully conducted a test launch of the intermediate-range ballistic missile Hatf IV Shaheen 1A weapon system, demonstrating its capability of carrying both nuclear and conventional warheads, a statement from Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The missile, an improved version of Shaheen-1, is capable of hitting its target more accurately with improvements in range and technical parameters.

Director General (DG) Strategic Plans Division (SPD) Lieutenant General Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, Chairman NESCOM Muhammad Irfan Burney, Commander Army Strategic Force Command Lieutenant General Tariq Nadeem Gilani and other senior military officers, scientists and engineers, witnessed the launch.

The Express Tribune reported that DG SPD Lt-Gen Kidwai congratulated all scientists and engineers on the successful launch of the missile. He said that the improved version will further consolidate and strengthen Pakistan's deterrence abilities. He appreciated the efforts of all personnel for their dedication and professionalism.
