Ex Yahoo boss Susan Decker and husband agree on $71m divorce

London, Apr 25 (ANI): The ongoing divorce battle between Susan Decker, the former president of internet giant Yahoo, and her investment banker husband has been settled in an agreement that is being compared to the "The Treaty of Versailles".

The extraordinarily bitter break up of the 49-year-old Silicon Valley power player and Michael Dovey led to the couple hurling allegations of infidelity, drug use and electronic bugging at each other.

As they fought over their 71-million-dollar (44-million-pound) fortune, which comprised of mansions, stocks and cash, details of their lavish lifestyle were disclosed, including a 260,000-dollar golf club membership and a private jet account, the Telegraph reported.

The golden couple met while studying business administration at Harvard Business School and married in 1992. They had three children, now aged nine to 14, but their relationship soured and they filed for divorce in 2007.

In the same year Decker was promoted to president of Yahoo. She resigned in 2009 following a tumultuous period for the company. The 52-year-old had retired from banking in his 30s with a fortune of 13 million dollars.

According to court papers, the couple's assets included a 5-million-dollar five-bedroom home in Belvedere, near San Francisco, one of the most affluent enclaves in the United States.

They also owned a 6-million-dollar property in the Orange County resort of Laguna Beach, two skiing lodges worth 2-million-dollar in Lake Tahoe, and a 1-million-dollar parcel of land in the Napa Valley winemaking area. All were owned outright.

The assets at stake also included two sailing boats, five motorcycles, season tickets for the San Francisco Giants baseball team and almost nine hours of private jet time.

In 2009 an eight-page letter from Dovey's lawyers was leaked. In it Decker was accused of extramarital affairs, drug use, and bugging the Laguna Beach home to spy on him. Her lawyers responded that the letter contained "reckless, highly inflammatory and inaccurate allegations."

As the mud-slinging continued Dovey's lawyers said Decker's side had similarly accused him of infidelity and drug use in an attempt to "impugn Mike's character."

Dovey's lawyers also issued subpoenas to Yahoo demanding emails and records, and the company's head of corporate security was among witnesses due to give evidence in court over the bugging claims.

A 15-page settlement was concluded at the 11th hour as the case was finally due to go to trial in California's Marin County. (ANI)
