Krishna briefed on Odia student killing by Nirupama Rao

New Delhi/ Bhubaneswar, Apr 22 (ANI): External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna has reportedly spoken to Indian Ambassador to the US, Nirupama Rao, over the killing of K Sheshadri Rao, a young Odia student, at Boston.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had on Saturday condemned the killing of the Odia student and taken up the matter with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Patnaik had spoken to Krishna and Rao about the unpleasing incident. He had also written to Krishna expressing concern of the people of Odisha over the tragic incident.

According to reports, the probe into the killing is on and the Indian Ambassador to US has assured Patnaik that they would be following up the matter with the authorities concerned.

Sheshadri, who was pursuing a management degree in Boston University, was shot dead near his campus by an unidentified assailant.

The 24-year-old Indian student originally hailed from Andhra, but his family had settled in Odisha. (ANI)
