Carroll says he quit carousing when he joined Liverpool

London, Tue, 17 Apr 2012 ANI

London, Apr 17(ANI): Liverpool striker Andy Carroll has claimed he had changed his lifestyle drastically after he joined the Merseyside club last year, putting a full stop to his boozing habit.

The 35 million pound striker insists he now spends his nights watching television box rather than visitig a bar.

Carroll won Sunday's FA Cup semi-final against bitter neighbors Everton 2-1 with a late header.

"My past is my past. I changed my lifestyle when I came to Liverpool and settled down. I love it here," The Sun quoted Carroll, as saying.

Carroll's late goal at the weekend guaranteed him cult Kop status for life, and it came just four days after another header, which saw off Blackburn 3-2.

But it has been a long road as he arrived at Anfield with a reputation for off-the-field antics at Newcastle and with a niggling knee injury.

"People will say to me 'Oh, you were in the boozer last week' but it is just rumours going round. Now I just laugh it off. To be honest, I don't go out at all," Carroll said.

"I know what people say is not true, my family knows it's not true and the club knows it's not true. All I do now is sit in the house with my girlfriend, chill out and watch movies," he added. (ANI)
