Five shot dead at disco in Mexican city

Monterrey (Mexico), April 16 (IANS/EFE) Gunmen killed five people at a disco in Monterrey, the capital of the northern Mexican state of Nuevo Leon, authorities said Sunday.

"Armed men arrived right around 12.30 a.m. at the El Dorado nightclub," a state Security Council spokesperson told EFE.

The gunmen asked who the owner was, ordered everyone else to get on the floor and opened fire.

The nightclub's owner, several customers and a musician performing at the club were hit by rounds from assault rifles, the state Security Council spokesperson said.

Investigators found about 60 bullet casings from automatic rifles at the crime scene.
