Beijing, Sat, 14 Apr 2012 ANI

Beijing, Apr 14 (ANI): Senior Chinese military officers and authorities have joined hands with the political leaders of the country in unity following the ouster of disgraced politician Bo Xilai and the arrest of his wife on charges of murdering British businessman, Neil Heywood.

The political leadership of the People's Liberation Army seemed to have thrown their lot behind suppressing speculation that there were rifts among party leaders following the ouster of Bo.

"The incident has sounded the alarm for the party members and cadres, warning us to effectively check erroneous ideas and harmful tendencies at the outset and combat corruption and moral degeneration," the Washington post quoted Pan Yong, Political Commissar of the Meishan Military Sub-Command, Sichuan Provincial Military Command, as saying.

According to reports, Liu Xiaojiang, Commissar of the Navy, strictly warned his troops to "stop gossiping, inquiring blindly or spreading wrong information." He said, "Don't listen, don't trust, and don't spread all these political rumors, especially those on the Internet."

"When encountering a situation when it's hard to choose between emotion and principle, we should choose to put personal relationships subordinate to the development of the party's cause," Yin Fanglong, Head of the Political Department of the 2nd Artillery Corps, was reported as saying.

Chinese authorities have shut down some 42 Web sites since Bo and his wife Gu's case surfaced in Chongqing which reported the murder of Neil Heywood, a British businessman. Many users of the microblogging sites, collectively called "weibo," have found their service disabled or their followers unable to post comments.

Reports have also claimed that terms pertaining to Bo, Gu, Chongqing and political crisis have been blocked from search engines, and some Internet users have reported difficulty accessing foreign Web sites, including U.S. and other foreign news sites. (ANI)
