Ingersoll Rand India to invest $20 million

Chennai, April 12 (IANS) Diversified industrial products manufacturer Ingersoll Rand (India) Ltd will invest over $20 million at its new facility located near here, while modernising its existing production facilities in Gujarat and in Sahibabad, in Uttar Pradesh near Delhi, said a top official.

 

"We will manufacture small chillers and air handling units at the new facility. The factory would provide employment (direct and indirect) to around 500 people," Micheal W. Lamach, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Ingersoll Rand based in US told reporters Thursday.

 

The new plant near here expected to go on stream in 2013.

 

According to Venkatesh Valluri, chairman and president of Ingersoll Rand India, the new plant offers the company to localise and develop products that meet India's growing demand for personal security, energy efficiency and home automation.
